Steve Van Asselt brings with him over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. Steve also trains clients on a limited basis when not managing the department. He enjoys breaking down all movements into their biomechanical principals and tailoring workout to an individual’s need and wants. Kevin Blonde, Hons.B.Sc, RMT
Kevin’s focus is directed mainly in the rehabilitation field. His experience in physio and massage therapy has provided a solid foundation to help individuals overcome a variety of injuries. He believes preventive maintenance through regular massage, combined with a personalized core training program is vital to fulfilling a healthier lifestyle. Kevin has an Honours Kinesiology Degree from the University of Waterloo, during his degree he worked in various physiotherapy clinics and hospitals. His background also includes experiences in office ergonomics and he holds a diploma in Massage Therapy from Mount Royal University.
Trevor Brewer, M.A. PTS, Twist Conditioning Sport Specialist Level 1, Certified Life Coach/Lifestyle Counselor
Trevor is in his eighth year as a Personal Trainer/ Wellness Coach and has a client-centered, holistic approach that brings practical solutions for his client’s health needs. He has completed a Twist Sport Conditioning Specialist Level 1 certification (Sport Strength I & II, Movement Skills I & II, Balance for Sport) and is taking graduate level coursework to keep his training cutting-edge. Although, mentoring has been his key to gaining knowledge about fitness and learning from some of the best trainers in Canada has been integral for him. One of his special interests is teaching clients Ki-Hara self-stretching so that clients can become more flexible, stronger, and able to recover from injuries more quickly. He believes that overcoming injuries is very important as they can be obstacles to fitness and health. Trevor has had a variety of injuries that he has overcome through aligning himself with some of the best rehabilitation professionals in Canada.
Brandon Klotz, PFT, CSEP-CPT
Within minutes of training with Brandon you will be ready to “work”. His enthusiastic and supportive approach will motivate you to push your own limits to be successful. It’s obvious that everything from his trademark stories to his infectious smile keeps his clients glowing as he takes them through their workouts. His patience and attitude will inspire you to work hard to achieve your goals. He will work with you to break down those barriers that have prevented you from being successful in the past and make you realize just how fun and rewarding fitness can be.
Brandon graduated from NAIT, and after working in Edmonton for five years at a sport-specific studio, he decided to take his talents around the world while working on cruise ships. For three years, Brandon operated and managed the fitness facilities onboard several ships. He believes that no matter what part of the world you are from fitness is a language that can bring challenge and change. Combined with a personable and fun approach to training, Brandon inspires individuals to achieve their fitness goals and feel comfortable in the gym.
Ethan Klint, PFT, canfitpro PT Specialist, AFLCA Certified Resistance, TRX Suspension Group Instructor
Ethan’s passion for the fitness industry started to grow while playing competitive soccer in his youth, and became even stronger after having two knee surgeries. Spending countless hours with athletic therapists and personal trainers, Ethan knows the commitment and dedication it takes to become mobile, healthy and able to perform at a level of fi tness once achieved. Ethan started his fitness career coaching youth soccer, as he wanted to make sure his team was strong, fit, and healthy and prevent injuries from occurring.
Ethan’s fitness career has been spent working with hockey teams, football players, soccer teams, and boot camps and he specializes in weight loss. Ethan strives to help his clients lose weight, increase mobility and decrease aches and pains throughout the body. The number one goal he wants every client to achieve is to live a healthy lifestyle and to believe in themselves.
Liana Sanche, BSc Kin, CSEP, CEP
Ever since Liana’s been old enough to run she has spent most of her free time playing sports, working out, playing outside, and just plain having fun being active. She has worked with athletes of all types and spent a number of years training various Varsity teams at the University of Saskatchewan. Whether it was the hockey, soccer, or basketball team, Liana focused on core strength/stability, endurance, and functional strength. She also enjoys training the general public and gets excited about helping someone lose those extra pounds, gear up for a race goal, or just plain get in shape for life.
Liana received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan and is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP). She spent a few years training the general public at the U of S as well as training various U of S Huskie teams. Liana trained applicants who were preparing for the RCMP physical fitness test (PARE), and also trained those preparing for the Police physical fitness test (POPAT). Along with this training, she conducted both the PARE and POPAT tests. Liana really enjoys weight lifting, running, cycling, and spending time outdoors with her golden lab, Oslo — HER personal trainer!

Doug’s been participating and involved in sports his whole life and currently enjoys golfing, squash, and playing hockey a number times a week. It’s his desire to continue enjoying and participating in these and other activities associated with everyday living for many more years. Daily physical activity was one driver that pointed him to pursue a new career in the physical fitness industry.
With his past business experience, Doug has always enjoyed and excelled working with people in meeting and exceeding their goals through planning and accountability. It was through Doug’s involvement with Parkinson Disease & Parkinson Association of Alberta that he was exposed to some of their wellness programs in particular PWR-MOVES (Parkinson Wellness Recovery). PWR-MOVES was the final box ticked for him to make the career change. Through these wellness programs that Doug began to develop an understanding and deeper appreciation of the benefits of movement and exercise with chronic diseases as well as when we age.
Doug’s firm belief in the old adage “Move it or Lose it”. His desire is to coach and guide you to achieving your wellness goals focusing on exercise to help you move through the activities of daily life and continue to pursue those other activities you are passionate about whether it be sports, outdoor adventures, or just keeping up with the kids and/or grandkids.

Elaine’s passion for strength development began with at the Olympic Oval where she gained sport-speciﬁc training theory under the direction of Olympic level strength and conditioning coaches. In conjunction with current research at the University of Calgary’s Human Performance Lab, Elaine successfully adapts training protocols and techniques designed for athletes into her clients’ training programs, regardless of ﬁtness level.
Elaine strongly believes that structuring ﬁtness goals to focus on building strength, will not only develop a deep empowerment that translates into all areas of life, but will also result in other ﬁtness goals such as body composition changes.

Elaine has enjoyed working with a wide spectrum of clients including elite athletes as well as doctor-referred patients with chronic illnesses. With the encouragement of his parents Troy has been an active participant in athletics since joining competitive swimming at a very early age, and played all school athletics through junior and senior high. He played college volleyball for 2 yrs in BC then moved to Calgary where he earned his degree in Kinesiology at University of Calgary.
Troy’s career path moved him in a different direction than a Kinesiology degree normally would, but his passion for helping people live longer, healthier, and more fit lives has led him here, back to where he started and believes is his true calling. He is a big believer in functional fitness and movement, and how it translates to all aspects if everyday life, as well as the importance of mobility to increase strength and health. You won’t find him using any of the machines! Troy is going to help you “get comfortable with being uncomfortable” and make those changes you have been putting off.
